I just started reading Elizabeth Berg’s The Year of Pleasures today, and it’s so lovely, I just want to tuck myself away into a soft corner and immerse myself in it.

I like her writing because it’s very joyous - that’s the word that comes to mind. She usually writes about living life to the fullest, and while there’s some angst and searching, her novels are often joyful journeys.

I’m only read a couple of chapters so far, and I probably won’t get the chance to really sit down with it until later this week. But writing like this always makes me feel so good, like the world is filled with potential.
